Pasha Bakhtiar – Managing Partner, Investors and Partnerships

Pasha was honoured as a Young Global Leader in 2012 by the World Economic Forum in recognition of his leadership and vision in the field of impact investing.

With 12 years of experience in finance, and most recently, as Managing Director of Lombard Odier & Cie in the UAE, Pasha has deep expertise in asset management and investment. His responsibilities, beyond opening, growing and heading up the bank’s office in the Middle East in Dubai have included capital raising, portfolio management and structuring innovative solutions for investors. As Vice President of the special affairs team that managed the bank’s largest and most complex clients, he was mandated with the analysis and advisory of their Private Equity portfolios. In 2007 he received a “Rising Star of Wealth Management” award from Institutional Investor in New York.

This he gained through years of working in emerging markets for financial institutions and for NGOs such as the Center for Applied Studies in International Negotiation, focused in Ethiopia on issues related to improving agricultural practices in Sub Saharan Africa.

«After years spent fund raising around the world I was able to experience first-hand the multiple uses of capital. It became clear to me that we should be advocating and enabling a new model. One in which private capital would be the catalyst for sustainable and profitable socio-environmental change.»

Pasha has a BA from Georgetown University and an MBA from INSEAD. He speaks seven languages, holds a Private Pilots License and enjoys ski touring and long distance triathlons. He lives with his wife, son and daughter in Dubai.

Prior to that, Nadine was at HSBC in Group Public Affairs, in investor and media relations and corporate communications.

She has also served as a Governor of the Centre for Lebanese Studies in Oxford and has volunteered services for organisations as diverse as Amnesty International, the Lebanese Red Cross, local theatre groups and development organisations.
